"The lead plate is the page; its nature led me first of all to carve a grid onto it, and this established a closeness with the pure metal, a dialogue like that of the musician with his instrument. A great discovery. The next cut was a question, a beam of light that awoke me… The number of cuts and openings found the rhythm of a true dance in rotation. This transformation brings light into the darkness of the substance—light that is inner attention."
