Stanza nel momento, 1992

111 elements: lead
50 x 50 x 0.1 cm each
New orchestrations
"The form of these works is based on a grid that, initially drawn on a square sheet, outlines a pattern of geometric figures like the triangle, square, and rhombus. These shapes are cut and folded by hand to create a structure in which solids contrast with voids, illuminated areas alternate with ones in shadow, and the weight of the metal (in the case of lead Salvadori would speak of 'absolute heaviness') contrasts with the lightness of the openings in it. . . . Over time Salvadori would expand not only the scale of the subject, but also the number of combinations in which it could be presented. Originally a single element, Nel momento would often be made up of several parts that in turn would be arranged in space to create new compositions. As in a music score, the main theme, which remained the same, would be subjected to variations that would give rise to new orchestrations."
