The propagation of a wave
"Alveare is intrinsically connected with water because it was born, the artist recalls, after he had observed the reflections of light on the waves of the sea. The work also alludes to the concept of propagation. . . . In the case of Alveare the same effect is produced by the density of the pattern created by placing the thin copper rods at different distances from one another, in a sequence that suggests the propagation of a wave, or of a sound that expands in space and spreads out along the wall. "
