The jar is a metonymy of its content
"The metaphorical forms that allude to this tendency towards the lofty and sublime range fromthe geometrical figure (from circle to square) to the image (from star to drinking glass). . . . Salvadori has worked on the wightlessness of the light, which creates reflection in and on the water of his Lente liquida, 1998, to evoke once again the fluidity of his own work. The luminous element reminds us of its power of provocation and maturation. The jar is a metonymy of its content, the transparent liquid, which is at once heavy and volatile, emotional and spiritual."
(Germano Celant, "Inner symphonies", in Remo Salvadori. Continuo Infinito Presente/Sostare/Nel Momento, catalogue of the exhibition at the Stiftung Insel Hombroich, Neuss, September 9 - December 9, 2018 [Berlin: Distanz, 2019], 161)
